Or Happy Ganna!!!
Happy Ethiopian Christmas
This is one of the orphanage caregivers performing a coffee ceremony for my mom and I back on our March 2007 trip.

We don't really have anything special planned for today. But I certainly didn't want to day to pass without mentioning it. When Gabbi is a bit older I plan to take her (and the whole family of course) to an Ethiopian restaurant to celebrate every year for Ganna.

Happy Ganna!

Ironically, my daughter's holiday pagaent was cancelled because of the weather - so, today we will be going to her School to see the rescheduled performance of the Nativity Play, a hannukah play and a kwanzaa play! The we'll come home for Ethiopian food. A multi-cultural event :)

I wish we were in a larger community where there was a Ganna celebration - we'll head to the city on the weekend for one.

Beautiful photo...

Happy Ganna,
& to think, our family gets to celebrate another holiday all because of one precious miracle that entered our lives.

that's fantastic to give her that once she's old enough to understand. keeping her in touch with her culture is surely such a gift!

Melkam Genna!

You have such an eye and natural talent for photography! I am glad to see by your post about cut flowers that it is something you are spending more time pursuing. The photo here is captured beautifully!
