A new blog and some inspiration
>> January 1, 2009
I think the end of an old year and the start of a new one is a great time. A time for letting go of the past. A future full of possibilities. I have a few "intentions" for the new year. "An intention is a purpose held in mind, a desired goal you want to experience. It's more than hope or a wish. It's a steadfast fixed idea. Just thinking about having, being or doing it gives you pleasure. There's innate power in intention." Each one of my intentions focus on me being the best person I can be. So over the next few days I will tell you about them.
My first news years intention is appreciation. Appreciation for others work. We all love to receive comments on our blog posts and flickr photos but I think it is just as important to leave those comments (this is not me fishing for comments, lol). I plan on leaving many more comments of appreciation for wonderful blog posts and beautiful pictures that I come across.
The other day I was looking at a GORGEOUS photostream on flickr and I decided to send her a private message telling her how beautiful I thought her pictures were. Then about an hour later I got a message from a completely different person telling ME how beautiful she thought MY pictures were. I guess what goes around come around :)
Happy New Year!!!!!

I also think that is a GREAT new years resolution!
I just bought a new DSLR camera, got it for our anniversary!:) I was wondering what photo editing program you use....??? If you feel like sharing that is! :)
Congrats on the new camera!!! Can't wait to see your pictures :) I use Picnik. www.picnik.com
I upgraded to the premium account but there are some features you can use for free.
I love this way of doing resolutions. Very cool. Flickr and blogs are great, aren't they? So inspirational and awesome people!
Yes I agree! Thank you :)
Great post Seb, love the picture and it's even more meaningful since I know the story behind it. LOL. Mom xox
Your photos are gorgeous! One of my resolutions this year was to learn more about photography and put my nice new camera to some good use! I just ordered a nice Nikor 50mm f1.8 lens...so excited!!
I came across your blog via Red or Gray...love your photo with that beautiful bokeh.
Jenn; You will LOVE that lens. I have the Canon 50mm F/1.8 and it is what 95% of my pictures is taken with.
Coffee Table book any time soon?? Make your own and sell it at blurb.com :)

Sebrina, your new year's intentions are very inspirational. With my new Canon Rebel camera (thanks for your recommendation) I had for Christmas I think 2009 will be a year of learning photography.
